This glossary is a chance for you to think about and share your ideas for building buy-in for administering a Connections screener. We've provided some examples of entries from previous course participants for reference.
Utilizing building level conferences as a time to present the ideas and data to support it. Being all together as a full staff can be a powerful way to show the importance and can create more buy-in. Teachers will have the opportunity to see that it is truly a school-wide effort and not just meant for a certain group,
Share information with already established groupings of teachers (department leaders, for example) and discuss implementing a connections screener with them. Answer any questions that they may have and then allow them to disseminate the information with their departments and get feedback. They can then bring this feedback forward at a following meeting with any concerns or questions that their department members had. This way, when the program is presented to the whole faculty as an initiative, most staff are aware of it, and the presenters can address some of the concerns that staff brought forward and how they will be addressed to ensure a smooth transition and implementation.
